Completing Museum… (part 1: Paintings)

Yes! Part one of my museum completed! HOORAH!

Yesterday I went to Mitsukyo for the fireworks but I also took part in her Painting Party. Basically she lays out every painting and all guests are welcome to touch them. I see it as a very clever idea. When I got back I ordered half the paintings (Tom Nook can only take ten orders at a time^^) and in the morning at 10am I got mail - of course it was my paintings! I donated them all then went to Tom Nooks and ordered the rest of them. I turned off and at 8pm while me, Mum and Ellie watched a film (Molly and Ben were in bed^^) I turned on my DS to find the paintings had arrived! Yay, I donated the and when I donated the last painting (solemn painting) Blathers exclaimed: “Hoo! I do believe you’ve completed the rather sophisticated painting section of Kettle’s grand Museum. We’re extremely grateful for your kind generosity.”

I felt really proud, or, as Jordan would say ‘it gave me the warm fuzzies!’

Thanks Mayu!

Did you know… (part 3: Episodes)

This post is dedicated to Jordan who I couldn’t explain episodes in a few words  So I hope this helps Jordan! :)

Basically, every so often ‘working animals’ like to chat to you about there life. Here are the dates of when these episodes are:

2nd Wednesday of January - Mabel and Sable (7 episodes)
2nd Sunday of February - Tom Nook (6 episodes)
2nd Saturday of March - Pelly and Phyllis (6 episodes)
1st Sunday of April - Blathers (6 episodes)
4th Saturday of April - Mabel and Sable (3 episodes)
2nd Tuesday of May - Tom Nook (3 episodes)
4th Sunday of May - Blathers (4 episodes)
2nd Saturday of June - Pelly and Phyllis (4 episodes)
4th Friday of June - Pelly and Phyllis (4 episodes)
2nd Thursday of July - Blathers (3 episodes)
4th Sunday of July - Mabel and Sable (4 episodes)
2nd Saturday of August - Tom Nook (4 episodes)
4th Friday of August - Pelly and Phyllis (6 episodes)
3rd Saturday of September - Tom Nook (3 episodes)
1st Friday of October - Blathers (4 episodes)
3rd Thursday of October - Mabel and Sable (4 episodes)
1st Saturday of November - Tom Nook (5 episodes)
4th Thursday of November - Pelly and Phyllis (6 episodes)
3rd Saturday of December - Blathers (5 episodes)

You must have spoken with the involved characters at some point in the game in
order to trigger the episodes.  You need to “befriend” Sable in order to
trigger the Mabel and Sable episodes.  You need Nookington’s (with Harriet,
Timmy, and Tommy) in order to trigger the Tom Nook episodes.  You have to talk
to Pete (after shooting him down with your Slingshot), at least once, in order
to trigger the Pelly and Phyllis episodes.  Finally, you need to speak to
Celeste and Brewster before triggering the Blathers episodes.

You must witness the first episode in order to trigger the subsequent episodes.

If you miss the day of the first episode, you may still hear the first episode the following day.  For example, if you do not play on the 2nd Wednesday of January, you may still catch what Mabel and Sable have to say on the next day, Thursday.

There are four days between each first and second episode, then three days
between subsequent episodes.

My First Ever Fireworks Party!

Tonight I had the most wonderful party. An ACWW fireworks party!

It started at 6pm my time (obviously 7pm in Germany) when I went to Copper to see who might have there gates open for fireworks… no! I knew Miki would be opening for a wonderful fireworks display. I waited but no luck… :( , I waited until 6:20 and YES! Just as I was giving up hope Mitsukyo’s gates were open! I tapped it straight away but as I was on my way Resseti greeted me! AAARRRGGHH! But eventually I did get in… just as my tea was ready. Therefore I shut my DS. I wasn’t going to leave straight away.

When I came back Alfie was there, yay! Alfie the pirate! Molly my sister also came. We put on some roman candle and sparkler display and played treasure hunts organised by Alfie. I won once, yay! What did I win… a star cap - extremely useful for Summer, thank you Alfie I appreciate it a lot.

Eventually me and Molly had to go :( . Thanks for the fun guys!

316 Bells - Worst Turnip Price Ever!

I can’t believe it! Remember when I met up with Ellen? I put my cartridge in her DS lite (never had a go on one before, mine’s ordinary DS) and her date was wrong! It was Saturday! AAARRRGGGHHH! The turnips I’d bought went spoiled!

Anyway, today I had a sleepover with Jasmine - a new friend of mine, and we were up until eleven. I went into my shop at 10:57pm and checked the turnip price. 316 BELLS!!!!! I wish there was time to announce it on my blog and open my gates but there wasn’t. :(

Did you know… (part 2: K.K. Slider)

K.K. Slider is a talented musician that plays weekly gigs at The Roost. K.K. will show up at The Roost every Saturday between 7:30pm and Midnight.  He will begin a soundcheck at 7:30pm.  By 8:00pm, K.K. will
accept requests.  You may either type in a request with perfect spelling and
punctuation, or you can just have K.K. play any song.

Note that if you do not input a song correctly in your request, K.K. will
automatically revert to playing “My Place”.  However, you’ll have another
chance to confirm an invalid request before K.K. starts playing.

The game’s credits will role while K.K. Slider plays on.  At the end of his
performance, K.K. will give you a bootleg copy of the song he just played.  To
play it, you must have a stereo.

Once you have obtained a bootleg, go to your stereo and choose to play the
song.  Once the song is stored in the stereo, the song will no longer take up
any space in your inventory.  Instead, they will remained stored in the stereo
and carry over to any new stereo item you may purchase.

Bootlegs often sound very different than the song will sound when K.K. performs
it, so don’t judge a song simply by the performance.  K.K.’s live performances
often sound very similar, while bootlegs are more distinctive.

The following is a list of every song K.K. Slider can play.

K.K. Chorale / K.K. March / K.K. Waltz / K.K. Swing / K.K. Jazz / K.K. Fusion / K.K. Etude / K.K. Lullaby / K.K. Aria / K.K. Samba / K.K. Bossa / K.K. Calypso / K.K. Salsa / K.K. Mambo / K.K. Reggae / K.K. Ska / K.K. Tango / K.K. Faire / Aloha K.K. / Lucky K.K. / K.K. Condor / K.K. Steppe / Imperial K.K. / K.K. Casbah / K.K. Safari / K.K. Folk / K.K. Rock / Rockin’ K.K. / K.K. Ragtime / K.K. Gumbo / The K. Funk / K.K. Blues / Soulful K.K. / K.K. Soul / K.K. Cruisin’ / K.K. Love Song / K.K. D & B / K.K. Technopop / DJ K.K. / Only Me / K.K. Country / Surfin’ K.K. / K.K. Ballad / Comrade K.K. / K.K. Lament / Go K.K. Rider! / K.K. Dirge / K.K. Western / Mr K.K. / Cafe K.K. / K.K. Parade / Senor K.K. / K.K. Song / I Love You / Two Days Ago / My Place / Forest Life / To The Edge / Pondering / K.K. Dixie / K.K. Marathon / King K.K. / Mountain Song / Marine Song 2001 / Neapolitan /   Steep Hill / K.K. Rockabilly / Agent K.K. / K.K. Rally / K.K. Metal.

Phew! What a long list! ! One other thing: The ‘e’ in Cafe K.K. requires an accent and the ‘n’ in Senor K.K. requires a tilde. Type these songs in exactly as typed here to have K.K. play your request.

P.S. If there’s any mistakes, please give me a hint! Thx!

Pete drops in.

Today I had no special guest, no Pascal so either Gulliver or Pete would fly across the sky. Today at bang on 9:00am I was armed ready to shoot, and I heard a flapping noise. WHOOOSH! Went my stone in my slingshot, then BANG! Pete was at my feet! Yay! Never had Pete before! (I didn’t have a camera but I’ll write what he said to me).

Pete: Owie… Ugh… Yow ow ow…

:gets up:

Pete: Hey! What are you doing in a place like this? My name is Pete! I’m the only mail carrier in Kettle! You know those letters in your mailbox? Well I’m the one who flies through the sky and makes sure they get there. Yep, at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., I make sure they’re in your mailbox, safe and sound. For some reason, something told me flying wasn’t a good idea today…  I don’t know what it was. Something instinctual, I guess. Well, hindsight really is 20/20 because… Oh! It was just terrible… Who would just randomly shoot at the sky with a slingshot? What, do I LOOK like a pigeon?! Sheesh!

:runs off:

Pete: Sorry, but I’m still behind my quota for the day… I’ll catch you again later, and we’ll talk.

To be honest I don’t think it was worth knocking him out the sky for that. *sigh* Maybe his conversations will get a bit more interesting (hopefully!)

Banded Dragonfly:- Part 2

Yay! Today we went on another banded dragonly hunt. This time Lauren came to help. Me, Lauren from Cherry, Jasmine from Waterway and Molly (Naomi) from France hunted down the elusive banded dragonfly and chased it until it became too tired to fly anymore. That didn’t really work so we worked on a trapping device. First of all we were given a space in Waterway (Jasmine’s town), Lauren was by Nook ‘n’ Go, Molly was by the museum, I was next to Agent S’s house and Jasmine was next to the gates. The idea was: Wait until someone spotted it. If it was Jasmine, she would chase it to Lauren, who would chase it to Molly who would chase it to me. I would chase it to a wall (so that it would fly into it and be trapped long enough to swing my net and catch it). And it worked! I caught it! YAY!

Banded Dragonfly:- Part 1

Today I met a girl called Jasmine, she’s new in my street so we got talking and I realised we both had ACWW! So we went in her house (me, Molly and Jasmine) and went to Molly’s town. It was here we first saw this mysterious black and yellow dragonfly. I saw it first, got out my net and chased after it. Then I realised how fast it was. I told the others and we all went hunting for it. Everyone was shouting and screaming and we were running around trying to catch the darn thing… but no luck. When Molly had to go and get ready (as she was going out for tea with her best friend, Bethany, and her family) Jasmine came to my town. Here she had her hair done (she got three blonde pigtails) then we played hide and seek and it was while I was hiding I saw the elusive dragonfly again. ”FOUND IT!” I shouted. We charged after it but had no luck :( so we split up. Jasmine took the left half of my town and I took the right but no matter how hard we tried, it was impossible to catch. At 4pm we gathered it would no longer be out so we searched for other bugs. At 9pm I went home, we said we’d try again tomorrow. (Of course at that point we did not know the name of the dragonfly).

Two Mysterious Monkeys in Scotland!

Today, my first day in Scotland we were greeted by my cousions Ellen and Sapphire. (I’ve been away that’s why the next few posts have been late!)

We got to our apartment and Ellen played AC:WW with us. Ellen has got two monkeys in her town, Monty and Elise. Here’s hoping they see sense and move to Kettle!

Ellen got these monkeys because they moved from her Step Dad’s, brother’s, daughter’s town. Sort of a step cousin for her?! Her step cousin doesn’t use AR but her step cousins best friend does. So they moved from her step cousins, best friend’s town to her step cousin’s town, to her town (then hopefully to mine! )… it’s all very complicated! My head hurts!

Did you know… (part 1: scorpions and tarantulas)

  1. As you know, I’ve been quite lucky with catching these beasts so I thought I’d give some tips on how to catch them:
  2. Make sure you DO NOT carry around your net at night (that is when they are seen)
  3. They are seen near rivers, pond and beaches. (I’ve got a pond in the top left of my town and that is where I’ve caught two of my beasts)
  4. Walk slowly around your town with the SOUND UP so you can hear the scuttling of their feet (headphones are even better apparently)
  5. DO NOT startle them, otherwise they will run and jump in the nearest bit of water they can find.
  6. Once you think they are in a suitable place to catch (e.g. stopped moving and are not facing you) get out your net.
  7. If they see you with your net they will run over to you and bite as a result you fall unconscious and wake at your house door.
  8. When you feel ready walk close then, 3, 2, 1 catch it!

The first few times it is unlikely you will catch them (it makes me sweat when I see them) but you will eventually.

My tip is, for the first few times, see what can happen. Run up to it and try and stand on it or get your net out and whack the ground around it. This way you know what can happen and are ready.
